Hunter S Tompson Makes It Five In A Row!

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

By Devil’s Own of UOSS:

A very slow night, participation-wise, in the fight ring tonight. With only Bazooka handled by Sis Draper to attempt to dethrone King of Da Burbz the fighting, however, went swiftly. Hunter even allowed a rematch on the second round due to Bazooka not behaving his master very well and still the King remained undaunted and prevailed.

In recognition of his achievement of winning this event five times in a row, Hunter and King were award some very nice items. The bracelet and one sash are inscribed proclaiming his accomplishment, and the boots are Pads of the Battle Chicken Lizard, all presented by EM Helios in the monthly award box.

Congratulations to Hunter S Thompson and King of Da Burbz!

Reward House Design Contest Announced!

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Our EMs, Tashik and Helios, have grown weary of the current design of our Reward House located in Malas and have decided that the talented designers of Legends should try their hand at a new look for it.

If you aren’t familiar with it, please go to the Counselor Hall in Brit and jump into the vortex located there to have a look. Your design can incorporate anything currently available on the housing menu and should ideally leave ample room for display of the rewards and artifacts (along with room for growth!).

I know there are lots of really talented people on Legends as I spend a good deal of time roaming the lands admiring (and sometimes breaking into!) the homes that have been created here. It’s time for you all to shine and submit an idea for a new Rewards House!

You may be hesitant about destroying your current house to work on this so you should know that there is lots of room to set a plot down on Test Center. Creating a house there in no way affects your home here on Legends. You will still see that annoying warning gump about condemning your current house, but it does not do that! Also on TC you will receive ample funds when you log in to create just about anything you could think of!

This contest will end on May 15th, so be sure to submit your entries early! Entries should be emailed to Helios@uoem.net

You may also post your entries here if you like……. for myself, I probably will post here, but not until the last moment

Legends Celebrates Easter!

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

The Legends Shard marked the Easter Holiday with a quest this year as citizens gathered inside Castle British. Summoned by Queen Dawn unsuspecting visitors were given orders to venture out amongst the realm and help control an uprising of epic proportions. Large Hordes of Rabbits and other False Easter Bunnies had taken ground in several keys locations and were multiplying rapidily. The task given was to “thin the herd” as the Queen put it!

Beginning at the Sacrifice shrine brave adventurers slay unworldly rabbits vorpal bunnies and even Guardian monstrosities searching out clues to other locations in which outbreak had occured. Patrons even were treated to an actual sighting of the REAL Easter bunny passing out colored carrots to all in view. After seven broods of furry madness the crowd on hand alas found thier just rewards!

Assembling in the palace gardens of Nujelm, the masses had found the colored squirrel statue. This statue once activated, gave each and every citizen an Easter Basket worthy of the Queen herself  filled with Easter Grass, Jelly Beans, Candy Coated Chocolate Bunnies in several colors, and even Robins Egg Candy!

Orion the Haunted

Orion the Haunted

In recent weeks travelers of the Felucca facet have been witness to random attacks by an unknown evil. Disappearances have been reported in the area of the Yew tombs along with murderous attacks of citizens in and around the Yew Moongate. This, while almost a daily occurrence in this area, became a much more suspicious activity as large hordes of beasts and otherwise uncontrolable creatures have been seen in the areas forests. Eyewitnesses and survivors have attributed these heinous acts and otherworldy abilities to one called Orion the Haunted. Spotted for the first time mere weeks ago, accounts proclaim the dark warrior showed himself along the battle lines of the Yew Gate, challenging those in eyes view to witness his coming and tremble in its wake. Shaking him off as if the areas newest boastful warrior their naiveness was their undoing as soon the entire areas’ forces lay in waste along the fields.

Attempts to follow the dark one has led scouts to the Yew Crypts. As days past his emergence grew more often and soon he willingly bared the mark of the Shadowlords. Adorning armour and weapons seemingly crafted by the omnipitent ones themselves several attacks by the lone warrior were carried out. Opponents are seemingly unable to even lay a hand on this foe. Growing in confidence open warfare soon emerged with attacks on all opposing faction forces in the realm. Unknown were the purpose of the attacks, the scene of chaos feeding the frenzy of battle seemed the only thing to please the dark one. With the recent defeat of the Shadowlord plot in the realm one can only hope our victory was complete. Such evil wandering the realm cannot bode well.

Garnering the realms attention was this most recent attack. Otherwise almost unnoteworthy, this week’s attack on the headquarters of the True Britannians showed the growing power of Orion as he lay siege on the city of Britain. Grasping the sigils from their monoliths around the realm and guarding them with monstrous undead bone daemons, attention was drawn to the Crypts as Orion himself and his forces of daemons and giant black scorpions took control of the base ransacking it in Britain. Guards were no match as the castle was turned upside down as the evil leader seemed to search for an unfound item. Cursing and furiously waging war bodies soon covered the streets and forces of the True Brits fought well to the end to hold off the coming of certain death as Orion’s objective was not met. Late arrivals from the forces of Minax and the Council of Mages were able to clear the town upon his departure. Reports of a curious necklaced gem being recovered have yet to be confirmed. Word has been sent to the Queen in hopes of reinforcements and information regarding this dark warriors identity or origins.
